We’re making a

Difference

In the Greater Gainesville Area

Pepine Gives is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit making housing more equitable in Alachua County.

Gainesville ranks as one of the least affordable cities in Florida.

The federal government states that housing is affordable if it costs no more than 30% of a household’s income. According to the Florida Housing Data Clearinghouse, in 2020, more than 11,500 Gainesville households spent over 50% of their income on housing costs, not including students. Furthermore, a 2021 report ranked Gainesville as the ninth least affordable midsize city in the United States.

That’s where we make an impact.

Since being founded by Betsy Pepine in 2018, we have helped make local housing more affordable to those who need it by:

Actively partnering with Habitat for Humanity

We fundraise for and volunteer with Alachua Habitat for Humanity to help build new homes for cost-burdened families across Gainesville.

Our organizational goal is to sponsor ten homes in ten years, and we’re already hard at work making that happen by hosting charity events like the Greater Gainesville Pickleball Open.

Repairing homes and selling them under market rates

We identify critical renovations your home needs and prioritize those that will get you the highest profit, finding you deals and fixes that make the changes affordable.

Fundraising, volunteering, and donation matching

We provide a matching grant of $1000 per year for each agent or staff member to donate to charities of their choice. Additionally, we organize monthly team volunteer events where our staff are encouraged to participate during business hours.

Through these efforts, we’ve had the priviledge of assisting many organizations, including cooking meals for Ronald McDonald House, arranging pet rescue events with the Humane Society of North Central Florida, organizing toy drives and campus beautification events on behalf of local schools, and much more.

We continuously strive to invest in our community and make a tangible difference to those who need it most.
