Pepine’s heart

Where Passion Meets Purpose

ABOUT US

Pepine Gives, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2018, exists to create a positive, tangible impact on those who need it the most. Dedicated to enhancing housing affordability in the Alachua County area, Pepine Gives continually expands its reach.

GAINESVILLE RANKS AS ONE OF THE LEAST AFFORDABLE CITIES IN FLORIDA.

39,332

Alachua County households are

unable to afford housing according

to federal affordability standards.

The federal government states that housing is affordable if it costs no more than 30% of a household’s income. According to the Florida Housing Data Clearinghouse, in 2022, more than 21,000 Alachua County Households spent over 50% of their income on housing costs, not including students. Furthermore, a 2023 study ranked Gainesville as the 2nd most expensive city to live in Florida.

Making An Impact In Our Community.

Founded by Betsy Pepine in 2018, we have been dedicated to making local housing more affordable for those in need by:

Actively Partnering with Habitat for Humanity

We collaborate with Alachua Habitat for Humanity, fundraising and volunteering to build new homes for cost-burdened families across Gainesville.

Our goal is to build 10 houses with Habitat for Humanity by December 31, 2032. To achieve this, we’re partnering with Alachua Habitat for Humanity to create safe, stable homes for at-risk families in Alachua County.

HABITAT BUILDS THE HOUSE, PEPINE GIVES MAKES IT A HOME.

Repairing Homes and Selling Them Below Market Rates

We identify critical renovations your home needs and prioritize those that will maximize your profit. Our goal is to find affordable deals and fixes that make these changes possible.

Fundraising, Volunteering, and Donation Matching

We offer a matching grant of $1,000 per year for each agent or staff member to donate to charities of their choice. Additionally, we organize team volunteer events, encouraging our staff to participate during business hours.

Through these efforts, we’ve had the privilege of assisting many organizations, including cooking meals for Ronald McDonald House, arranging pet rescue events with the Humane Society of North Central Florida, organizing toy drives, campus beautification events for local schools, and much more.

We continuously strive to invest in our community and make a tangible difference to those who need it most.
